Spent 28May-30May 2010 at the Avalon with 3 other American friends. Peter and Julie were terrific hosts. Room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfasts were the very best we had while in England. Especially good was the special porridge with the heavenly Cornish cream! Thank You so much!

Jonathan and I stayed at the Avalon last May (2010) for a week. It was our honeymoon and we couldn't have chosen a more idyllic place. Peter and Julie made us so welcome. The Avalon is beautifully decorated and furnished, the breakfasts are amazing...the most difficult thing about this holiday was having to select which breakfast you wanted to try each morning :-) and it is situated right on the coast overlooking Tintagel Castle. Wow what a view from the window (we were upgraded to a sea view room)! We will definitely be visiting again, very soon hopefully. Thanks guys :-)

We have had a superb time at the Avalon. Julie and Peter are the most excellent hosts, making us feel at home and catering to our every need. Peter’s breakfast is excellent. The Avalon has been recently remodeled and is extremely comfortable. The view of Tintagel Castle from the upstairs bedrooms (6 and 7) is simply awesome. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay long enough. May 2009.

These days it’s difficult to find diamonds but here is a true gem. Hospitable without being over bearing both Pete and Julie were the perfect hosts. With real drive and pride they deliver a truly stunning Bed and Breakfast establishment. Don’t bother with the rest, for here you have the best........ April 2009.

Just a short e-mail to thank you for making our recent holiday so enjoyable. Your service was excellent and we doubt if we will ever experience such high standards again, you certainly deserve your five star rating. We couldn't fault anything from the service to the cleanliness or the superb breakfasts.

Tintagel is no doubt a magical place on its own. The breathtaking rugged coastline plays a major role as well as the suggestions related to its historical and mythological past. A perfect escape from every day rush life. Yet you need the right haven to enjoy such a lovely place and be sure the right place in Tintagel is the Avalon. We stayed two nights in an enchanting sea-view room and spent some pleasurable time sitting in front of the wide bow window with a view to the Tintagel Peninsula straight head and the St Materiana Norman church on the left. The (spic-and-span like the rest of the place, by the way) room was delightful with an original ceramic-tiled Mackintosh fireplace that was just a pleasure to watch. Relaxing beige, brown and light blue colours matching pillows, drapes and... tea mugs! A wide selection of in-room coffee, chocolate and teas. Then flat-screen TV, DVD and CD-ROM player (with a selection of discs available in the room, just in case you forgot to bring yours !). Probably the most comfortable King bed we ever slept in . What else? Oh, yes, the wonderful spa fragrances (we loved the rosemary and bergamot one) available in the compact but most functional en suite. The last wonder at the Avalon: the morning breakfast but we are not going to tell you more, you have to try it for yourself. Thanks Julie and Peter, you are friendly, kind, attentive and wonderful hosts who made ours a holiday to remember. We are sure King Arthur would choose your Avalon to sleep end on. Don't normally submit comments, but the Avalon was so fantastic I think it deserves some. The place has a superb location with great views, really clean and beautifully furnished. It's got period features with modern fittings, very tasteful. It's very warm and friendly, and smelt lovely too! The attention to detail and the little extra's in the room were a lovely touch. The breakfasts were delicious. Julie recommended parking at Rock then getting the ferry over to Padstow which was a brilliant day out. (3 nights Oct 2009)

Hallo guys, we forgot to leave a message on your book but we would like to say that, Cornwall is gorgeous and your B&B fantastic. A view to remember, we left a piece of our hearts over there! I advice everyone who wants to hear the silence to pay you a visit. Also we got back to Naples with a tan!! That's outstanding! Peter and Julie are 'perfect' hosts.They make every single one of their guests feel 'special'. The house is immaculately kept, homely and welcoming, tastefully decorated and the atmosphere is so relaxing.Breakfast is the best I have ever had, a varied menu, all beautifully cooked....the porridge is 'out of this world. Peter and Julie have an amazing ability to 'connect' with their guests....they are a wonderful couple and we will definately visit again, and again and again. Literally just walked throught the door and felt compelled to post this. Its our second time staying here and can say without a doubt this is 5 star hotel treatment in a B&B. Peter and Julie are the best hosts one could hope for. Kind and accomodating, a guest wants for nothing staying here. The house is SPOTLESS, the rooms are a decent size and the en-suite bathrooms are a good size and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is absolutley top notch.......I swear I would go back for Petes "Avalon" porridge alone. You will be just a stones throw from the village centre, a short walk from the castle....and Tintagel itself is well located so you're really only a short drive from most of Cornwall's many attractions. I was gutted when I left, you really are treated like one of the family and look forward to going again in Easter. So if your planning a stay in Tintagel, get yourself to the Avalon........ You really can't afford not to. August 2011

Stayed for just a night about a year ago (we were camping at a silly time of year near by and needed to dry out!) We saw several b&b's from the outside and the Avalon just spoke to us when we saw it! It really did not disappointWe were welcomed and allowed to book in early to dry out and treated like one of the family. They were happy to suggest the best places to eat and you could tell that it for from experience as to where they would go. Had a really restful night and a beautiful breakfast. After thinking about going abroad this year we have decided to have a few days at the Avalon instead. Just wish we had booked earlier so we could have had a full week! I have just been reading their new breakfast menu and my stomach is rumbling! Roll on August!

We had a marvellous 2 night stay at the Avalon on 31st August 11.We had read all the good reviews and so our expectations were high,we were not disappointed in any way.Our room was perfect with a wonderfull view,spotlessly clean,giving you the feeling that you were the first people to stay there.The breakfasts were superb,so much choice and everything served piping hot. Beautiful decor everywhere,a lovely garden to sit in and soak up the sun.Peter and Julie were very welcoming,nothing was to much trouble and we thank them for making our stay so enjoyable and we look forward to visiting again in the future. After a unsuccessful experience with a tent and gale force winds we booked into Avalon for 2 nights. We were greeted by Julie and Peter who were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were fantastic, very clean and comfortable. We couldnt get over how quiet it was at night and as for the breakfast it was outstanding. We would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for comfort, friendly faces and the little touches to make you smile. We shall be visiting again and forgetting the tent next time! May 2011

It was our second stay at the Avalon, it was so great last time that this time we came back with 2 really great friends. I looked at a few Guest Houses around the area and I booked the Avalon because it's beautifully presented and highly recomended by previous visitors. This Guest House is second to none, Julie and Peter are so very lovely and have worked so hard to make it a special place to stay and believe me it was truly wonderful. A big thank you to you both!
